Q:Is the cost per EQU similar to the cost per FTE?

A: Yes, it is similar. It depends on what agreement you were on and when you signed up, so I can’t say it’s the exact cost but it is very similar. If you had the desktop bundle with Enterprise CAL, it’s a very minor cost difference from the M365 bundle. The real cost difference tends to that you might have to license more people as part of EQU as opposed to FTE. If you had the desktop bundle and you had anything like Intune or Azure Active Directory Premium, or ATP, then it is actually less expensive. Some of our members saw their bill go down in that regard.

Ayone that’s in an April renewal, we are working on your quotes right now and will get those out quickly. If you have to transition to M365 because your agreement is up, we’ll need to get your EQU count and will be sending out information about that shortly.

Q: Is there a cost for the server licenses?

A: What they call the productivity server licenses are at no cost, so SharePoint and Exchange and Skype for on-premise are at no cost. They are included. Windows and SQL and SCCM are still separate costs. They’re not bundling that in for us at this point.


Questions from October Webinar

Q: Are named users capped at what we purchase at the beginning of the year?

A: Unlike the old framework with FTE, you are able to go up or down on your EQU at every anniversary renewal period. If you want to purchase more licenses in between your renewal periods you can do so; they will be prorated down to 6 months.

If you estimate on the low end at the start of your agreement, you can increase throughout the year but you will need to be on top of it. You will not be able to purchase more licenses overnight — Microsoft doesn’t process orders quite that fast.

That being said, it is easier to add on when needed, rather than wishing you could go down, as Microsoft will not refund unused licenses if you’ve over-purchased.

Q: Will this change affect shared device licensing for Office Pro Plus?

A: It does not. There is a way to do shared device licensing for Office Pro Plus. If you have lab environments, you will not need to license them through M365.

Q: Will each user need to be licensed through the portal (ie. have a login) compared to installing license keys on user machines?

A: Yes, each user will have to have an M365 login via the portal, then you grant them the license and they can log in and download Office. This includes student licenses.

There are other deployment options with Office, but they are getting a little harder to do each year as Microsoft pushes everyone to put their users in the portal and assign licenses that way.

You can still deploy using license keys/VLSC, but fundamentally Microsoft sees M365 as a cloud-based system where you assign the users license rights and they can then download the product. This includes student licenses as well.

  1. I am not getting an email for my password reset.
    • This could be one of a few things:
      • It’s getting lost in your spam filter;
      • You didn’t have an account with this email;
      • You did have an account but hadn’t logged into it in more than a year, so it wasn’t imported. In any event,
  2. How do I add users on the new site?
    • For now, only 91Pro can to that. Send an email to help@oetc.org or , and we’ll be happy to help you.
  3. Does the comparison feature work for software?
    • The new comparison tool works for all products you can find on , including software. However, our comparison points are sourced from a third-party data provider and their information usually isn’t as extensive for software.
  4. My invoice did not include a PO number. How should I go about fixing this?
  5. How can I update the name of an item in my favorites?
    • Please see this .
  6. Will search fields be updated to accept wild card (*)?
    • Not at this time, but we’re looking into the option. In the meantime, you can use advanced search for complicated searches:
  7. When requesting a quote, will an auto quote be emailed?
    • Our quoting process requires back-and-forth with our suppliers as we try to negotiate the best price. Unfortunately, this means we can’t provide quotes automatically.
  8. Will order history from the old site will be available on the new site? How do you receive an order history from the old store?
    • Order history from the old site is not available on the new site. You’ll access it as you always have — log in to the old store , click the Account drop-down in the upper right corner, then select ‘Orders.’ . 91Pro will retain a copy of your order history in perpetuity and it will always be available from you or someone from your institution.
  9. How long will the previous store be live?
    • We anticipate keeping the old store live through the end of 2019, but your order history will be available in perpetuity and can be requested by help@oetc.org.
  10. I don’t have sufficient permissions when clicking the “Download order history” button in the old store. What should I do?
    • Please contact help@oetc.org or and we’ll help get that set up for you.
  11. How can a school tech forward a technology cart to their verified purchaser?
    • Please see .
  12. How do I view my license purchases and distributions?
    • For purchases made after July 1, 2019, you can view your license keys in your order history using our new reports feature, as covered in the webinar. To search your order history for a specific license, select the “Mfr Part #” option from the “Sales By:” menu. To see how to access your order history report, visit
    • For license key information from orders prior to July 1, 2019, you can continue to use the old site () as before.
  13. How do I find items? I’m not finding some stuff.
    • This could be one of several issues:
      • It may still be in the migration process;
      • It is not something that you could ever buy directly through the store (this is mostly, but not all, services);
      • Our new store system doesn’t use 91Pro’s custom SKUs; we now use standard manufacturer SKU; or
      • We didn’t migrate our entire catalog. Instead we used the migration as an opportunity to remove items that hadn’t been updated or purchased in a while, or had extremely low purchase rates. However, if we got something wrong, just let help@oetc.org know and we’ll get it added quickly.
  14. Why do some parts tell me to call?
    • Due to the nature of how our suppliers present us with pricing, some parts are showing up with “Call” instead of price. We are actively working to resolve that and plan to have the issue resolved in the coming weeks. In the meantime contact help@oetc.org, and we will make a quote for you.
  15. How do I add a user’s email address?
    • Only 91Pro can do that for now. .
  16. There’s been a change in checkout — how do I pay with a credit card?
    • You may pay your invoice with a credit card. Your invoice will be emailed to you and there will be a link to pay with a credit card.
    • The ability to pay with a credit card at checkout is coming soon.

As of July 1, 91Pro is using a new e-commerce platform. We’re excited for lots of great new features, but did want to let you know about two changes:

All users need to set a new password the first time they log onto the new platform.
We anticipate that this will take no more than three minutes, but you must have access to the email you registered with that serves as your username.

Order history prior to July 1 will not migrate over to the new site.
You can still access it by logging onto , where it will be available through the end of 2019. Please note that on the old store, you will still use your previous account password. In 2020 and beyond, you may request your order history by

On May 8, Adobe announced that, effective immediately, users are no longer licensed for using or deploying packages of certain older versions of Creative Cloud software (see full list below; if a product is not listed, it is still authorized). Those who use the most recent versions are not affected, nor are those who use Perpetual Licenses, with the exception of certain versions of Captivate.

There is a lot we don’t know yet. Adobe has promised ongoing updates, and as they become available we will guide you as needed.

Why is this happening? What if I don’t update?

Adobe says those who use older, unauthorized versions of CC may be at risk of copyright infringement by third parties. Your software will continue to function, but Adobe says you will no longer have third-party claim coverage.

How do I know if I need to update?

Adobe recommends updating if you are using one of the infringing versions of the software as seen in the table. As more information becomes available we will update our Adobe support documentation.

What is this going to cost?

Anyone with a current subscription continues to have access to the latest versions.

When will we know more?

Adobe said there would be updates over the next few days. We will follow those updates closely and pass along the information relevant to our educational membership.

Certain elements of this change, particularly the impact on ETLA customers running outdated versions and timing of migration away from serialized deployment, are not entirely clear. We’ve reached out to Adobe for clarification and will post answers to our support documentation page as soon as we have them.

We understand that this is frustrating news for those affected. Please know that 91Pro will monitor this closely and provide our members with the relevant information via email and as the situation develops.
